Chefchaouen and on to Fez

Anas picked us up early after breakfast and we drove a couple of hours to The Blue City.

We wandered the medina for a couple of hours and had a little lunch.
An artisan showed different hides, goat,
 camel, sheep and lamb.

Blacksmith, pumping the bellows over the tiny fire in a very small enclosed stall

He talked me into buying the scarf.

Great rugs but not Berber.

Fabulous views of blue walkways

The bread Ross ate everyday with tomatoes in 1963!

After lunch we drove on to Fez.  A long drive over very hilly terrain on to prairie that could have been Alberta, except for the olive trees.

Then into Fez, and our home for three nights, Riad Mazar Fes.  This is the lobby, since 1892.

Beautiful antiques everywhere, all made in Fez.

Went out into the Medina to search for a lite dinner.  Had a couple of directions to two restaurants from the lady concerige but got waylaid by a kid who said he would take us to his brother's restaurant.  It was so much closer.  His mother cooks.  The restaurant was beautiful, the food way more than we wanted but good.  The striking feature was the decor.

When we got back the concierge gave us a bad time about going with a stranger. Ah well, it worked out.
